In this short interview, Jo tells us about her experience working as part of our team.

What is your role at Wellbeing Teams?
I’m a Wellbeing Worker on the Wigan team, in Greater Manchester. I’m new to Wellbeing Teams, and have been in role for just a few weeks!

What was it about Wellbeing Teams that attracted you to working for us?
I was already working in care, but in a different setting, as it was a care home for older people. Unlike many other care roles, at Wellbeing Teams we are paid for our breaks, and the hours are manageable. Plus, the rate of pay is above many other places I have seen.

In what way is working for us different?
Our teams are self-managing. This means that we have more say in how we work, and we can make decisions as a team instead of always having to get approval from somebody else. Instead, we have processes for discussing and resolving challenges as a team. We learnt about how to self-manage as a team in our induction.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Without a doubt, knowing that I’ve made a difference, and that I’ve put a smile on people’s faces!

Three words that you’d use to describe working for Wellbeing Teams?
Friendly, hard-working, different.

What would you say to someone thinking about starting a career with us?
Go for it!
